Varsity Swimming Season Summary
The Boy’s & Girl’s Varsity swim Teams had very successful seasons. The girls team finished with a record of 5-5 in the League and 8-6 overall. The boy’s team finished with a record of 4-5-1 in the League and 8-5-1 overall. The swimmers showed tremendous improvement throughout the season. There were many swimmers who put in outstanding effort toward the end of the season competition.
The Girl’s Niagara Orleans winners were; Katie Donnelly in the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Amy Jessmer, Hannah Joslyn, Leah Knab and Katie Donnelly. Amy Jessmer placed 2nd in the 100 Yard Backstroke. At the Girl’s GR/NO Invitational Tournament at the conclusion of the season Katie Donnelly took first place in the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Katie Donnelly, Shannon Mulrain, Leah Knab and Amy Jessmer took first place. Donnelly also set a new school record in the 100 Freestyle by leading off in the relay event.
At the Boy's Niagara Orleans All-League meet Garrett Smith placed
2nd in the 100 Breaststroke. Bryan Diebel placed 3rd in the 200
Freestyle and Billy Andrews took 3rd place in the 100 Backstroke.
The 200 Yard Medley Team of Billy Andrews, Garrett Smith, Steven
Prentice and Bram Davies took 4th place.
