Looking for Clues in Forensics Class

Students look for details in the tires.

The Forensics class took advantage of good weather to examine vehicles in the high school parking lot.

Students learned how to locate and record pertinent details such as license plate and registration, VIN number, make and model number, color, year and type of vehicle.

Students also learned how to thoroughly examine tires.  They used a Tire Track Examination Sheet and logged wheel base measurements, tire track stance, brand, manufacturer, width, and tread depth of each individual tire.

Students compared their findings in class and learned how investigators use information like this to help them solve criminal cases.

The Forensics class is taught by Adam Krenning.
