The
Albion Elementary School PTA consists of a group of dedicated parents who are
interested in being involved in their children's life. Meetings
are held every other month on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 PM in the
Elementary School Media Center, and are listed on the school calendar. Each
meeting takes care of any necessary business and features a program of approximately
fifteen minutes. Past
programs have included presentations by Literacy Volunteers, academic expectations
for students, new school policies, and explanations of job duties by various support
staff in the elementary school. The
PTA sponsors the BOXTOPS for EDUCATION program. Students bring in boxtops and
the school receives benefits from the program. November, February and May are
Collection Contest months. Boxtops are turned in for a schoolwide contest. Be
sure to sign the backs of your boxtops. To find more information regarding the
boxtops program, go to http://www.boxtops4education.com The
PTA participates in Parents As Reading Partners (PARP) and Reflections programs,
both of which are recognized by the National PTA. Each
December, a Holiday Craft Day is held for families to come to school and enjoy
a day of fun. Over 150 students and family members attend this annual event.
PTA holds a staff appreciation luncheon in the spring as a way of thanking the
staff in the Elementary school, the district office, and the bus garage for another
year well done. Anyone
can attend a PTA meeting. New ideas are always welcome, so please consider joining
