GUIDELINES
FOR HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL PARTICIPATION
EFFECTIVE DATE: February 1, 2005
The Albion Central School District recognizes the importance of
a summer remedial program for students that have failed one or
more academic courses. To meet the eligibility requirements for
attendance at a summer remedial program, the high school adopts
the following admission requirements:
Minimum grade of 55% on final course average in grades 9-12
Maintain
85% attendance (This means no more than 13 absences in a 20
week course and no more than 6 absences in a 10 week course.)
If the student meets these requirements, he/she will be eligible
for a six week BOCES summer program.
Exemptions
to meeting the admittance requirement may be granted by the Coordinator
of Instruction and Learning in extreme circumstances and must
be documented. Once a decision has been rendered by the Coordinator
of Instruction and Learning, an appeal of the decision may be
made to the Superintendent.
