On
January 8, 2002, President Bush signed into law the No Child Left Behind Act.
According to this law the Albion Central School District must give to military
recruiters and institutions of higher learning, upon request, the names, addresses
and telephone numbers of high school junior and senior students.
As
a parent, you have the right to request that the district NOT release such information.
If you DO NOT want your child's name, address and telephone number given to military
recruiters and institutions of higher learning, please contact Amy Castricone
(ACS Registrar) at 585-589-2051. She will send you a form to fill out and return.
This form must be signed and returned to the district office by September 1st
of each new school year. If the district does not receive a form from a parent,
and the military or higher education institution request lists of names, your
child's name will appear on the list.
