Assistant Principal

Leslie Stauss

Leslie Stauss is the new Assistant Principal at the High School. Mrs. Stauss is a graduate of Oakfield Alabama High School and received her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland. After teaching for several years at Liverpool Central School and Auburn City School, she finally returned to her alma mater Oakfield Alabama Central School as an instructor.

She received her advanced certification in Education Administration from SUNY Brockport and then became Dean of Students at Oakfield Alabama. Her most recent administrative assignment was at Akron Central School where she was High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director.

The LINK asked Mrs. Stauss a series of questions to give the community a sense of her views. Her answers follow:

Why do you want to work at ACS?

I want to work at Albion Central School because it is a very student focused district with a reputation of excellence. It has been expanding programs to insure student success and has been improving each year.

What would you like to achieve this year at ACS?

This year my main goal will be to earn the respect of both students and staff. I am going to work very hard to decrease discipline issues and to assist in continuous academic achievement.

What advice can you give parents on how to communicate effectively with the school?

This district encourages parents to become involved in their children’s education and be an active part of the school community. It is important that school administration be aware of issues students are facing, both inside and outside of school. Parents should become familiar with the District’s resources, such as the Web site and Edline. Taking advantage of the opportunity to meet their student’s teachers at parent teacher conferences and visiting the school will insure open communication.

Parents want their children to be successful in school. Do you have any suggestions that will help parents achieve that goal?

It is very important at every grade level to know what your kids are doing! Talk to your kids every night. Be involved in your child’s life. I am looking forward to becoming an active participant in the Albion School and Community.
