Summer School

District Reviews Eligibility Requirements
for Summer School Participation

The ACS High School recognizes the importance of a summer remedial program for students that have failed one or more academic course. To meet the eligibility requirements for attendance at a summer remedial program, the high school adopts the following admission requirements:

  • Minimum grade of 55% on final course average in grades 9-12
  • Maintain 85% attendance (This means no more than 13 absences in a 20 week course and no more than 6 absences in a 10 week course).

If the student meets these requirements he/she will be eligible for a six week summer program.

Exemptions to meeting the admittance requirement may be granted by the Coordinator of Instruction and Learning in extreme circumstances and must be documented and filed with the Superintendent. Once a decision has been rendered by the Coordinator of Instruction and Learning, appeals of the decision may be made to the Superintendent.
