Donna Olsen & Mary Bannister Receive
National Teacher Certification

Sixth grade teacher Mary Bannister is congratulated by Board of Education President Michael Bonafede at the February 6, 2006, Board of Education meeting. Ms. Bannister recently received a national teaching certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards which is a "symbol of professional teaching excellence and recognizes teachers who are accomplished, make sound professional judgments about students' best interests and act effectively on those judgments." -NBPTS

Donna joins an elite group of 479 teachers in New York State who have these credentials. Donna is a sixth grade science teacher at Carl I. Bergerson Middle School.
