Spotlighting our seniors in Albion's first Winter Showcase

Spotlighting our seniors in Albion's first Winter Showcase

This year, Albion's Drama Department produced its first-ever Winter Showcase.

The showcase was created once the traditional Fall Show was no longer a possibility due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Winter Showcase was the perfect solution, providing the students with a fall theater experience while carrying on a highly anticipated Albion tradition.

In lieu of a program, the Senior Bios for the performance's cast and crew can be found below.

If you missed Albion's Winter Showcase, you can watch it on the district's YouTube channel here.

Ashley AmesMy name is Ashley, and I’ve been on stage crew since my seventh-grade year.  I’ve had the opportunity to participate in many of our productions, the most recent being the Drama Department’s Winter Showcase.  I’ve always enjoyed working backstage with everyone, and while this year is quite different from the last five, the experience is just as exciting.  I'd like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Feder for being the best stage crew mentors and leaders.  They’ve made crew into something we can learn from and have fun with.  I'd also like to thank Aisha Drisdom, Claire Squicciarini, and Chelsea Tucker for being the best of friends and for encouraging me to join crew in the earlier years.  Finally, I’d like to thank Mrs. Berg, Mrs. Winans, Mrs. Pettit, Mr. Doran Mr. Smith, Mr. Thaine, Mrs. Almeter, Mr. Martillotta, and everyone else who has helped make this production possible.

Aubrey BoyerMy name is Aubrey Boyer and I have been in the AHS Drama Department for six years now. The shows you may have seen me in include: High School Musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, Wizard of Oz, Getting to Know Once Upon a Mattress, Godspell, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Into The Woods, The Big Bad Musical, Little Mermaid, and now Freaky Friday. I have played every role from a dancing frog, to a sweet southern girl, to a witch, and now a controlling mom with a rebellious teen stuck inside. My time in the Drama Department has been such an amazing experience, one I would not trade for the world. I would like to thank my family for always being so supportive, my drama family that has made this experience much more memorable, and the wonderful production team that has always helped me whenever I needed it. Although this journey is now coming to an end I will never forget the long-lasting imprint it has made on me. And now I take my final bow.

Aisha DrisdomMy name is Aisha, and I have been participating in stage crew since the seventh grade. I have made some of the best memories designing, building, during rehearsals, and show week. I would like to thank my stage crew friends, who have made this experience even more remarkable. I also would like to thank all the staff members, who work extremely hard to create these productions.

Emily MerglerHi, my name is Emily Mergler and I am a senior this year. I have been in the Albion Theater Department for seven years since 6th grade. I have been in 12 shows, The Jungle Book, Junie B’ Jones, High School Musical, Wizard of Oz, Frog and Toad, Godspell, Once Upon A Mattress, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Into the Woods, The Big Bad Musical, The Little Mermaid, and finally Freaky Friday. I have played just about everything from a tree to a fairy godmother/lawyer. The memories and friendships I have made in this department will always remain with me as some of the best times in my life. We couldn't do what we do without all the wonderful support and hard work from our production team, we have Winans and Dibley always ensuring we look good, Berg and Miss. Winans growing our characters, Pettit dancing with us, Mr. Smith on sound, the Feders on set and Gary, Thaine and Mr. Doran helping with music. There are so many more people that go into making our shows happen and work and I cannot thank you enough. Mostly, I want to thank my family and friends for always going above and beyond to get me to practice, cheer me on, and always being there for me. I am sad this is my last show with all of you but so incredibly happy for all the opportunities you have given me.

Annalise SteierMy name is Annalise Steier and I have been participating in theater since 6th grade and have been in a total of 17 musicals! Every moment on stage has built me to become who I am today! My favorite shows in high school include Godspell and The Little Mermaid (even though it was cut short). My favorite memory from the shows are pre-show pep talks, I love that, in that moment, we all feel like a close family. After High School, I plan to attend Keuka College for Early Childhood Education with a focus on American Sign Language. Thank you to my family and friends for being the most supportive people out there! I will miss my theater family next year but I will never forget how special our bond is!
