FAFSA presentation

In lieu of our traditional Financial Aid Night, Renee Swift of Nazareth College graciously agreed to record a virtual presentation for our Albion families. In the presentation link below, Ms. Swift provides advice to families on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is a form that all families complete when their student attends college. Ms. Swift will walk you through the application process and inform you of strategies for helping your child receive the proper financial assistance.

View Ms. Swift's presentation here.

If you are unable to watch the video, download a PDF of the slides used in her presentation here.

All students who are planning to attend college in the fall of 2021 should file their FAFSA form as soon as possible. The form will be available beginning October 1. Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and quick, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school. The college will use your FAFSA data to determine your eligibility for state and school aid. The form can be completed at

Additional Financial Aid Workshops

We have an additional financial aid workshop option that Genesee Community College is offering. If you are planning to attend college next year, you will need to complete the FAFSA in order to get your financial aid. Watching one of these presentations will help you greatly, regardless of what college you are planning to attend.

To sign up for GCC's Zoom meeting workshop, you will need to sign up for the date that you prefer.  Here are the two dates they are hosting with a link to sign up:

The Counseling Department at Albion High School is comprised of school counselors, a school psychologist, a social worker, and secretarial support. The goal of the Albion High School Counseling Department is to assist every student in all aspects of their high school career… and beyond. Counselors meet with students annually to assist with the planning of curriculum that meets the individual student's needs and goals. During that meeting, students review their progress towards completing the requirements for graduation to insure that students are headed in the right direction.

The department has group counseling to meet the various needs of the students. The Counseling Center also houses college catalogs, financial aid information, college videos, and various career resources.  Many colleges visit Albion High School frequently to offer information regarding their school.  The department hosts two College Fairs every October and has over thirty (30) area colleges and universities attend.

Many of our students need help finding a career for which they are suited. Naviance is a program available to all students. It has a database of four-year colleges, two-year colleges, and vocational-technical schools. Aptitude and interest surveys are also available. Whatever your future plans are, we can help. The links in the left navigation bar will direct you to information geared to your future.
