Mrs. Jennifer Ashbery
Students and Families,
Many of the usual signs of spring are upon us; warmer temperatures, longer days and plenty of sunshine. However, this June has been like no other in so many ways. Our fields were empty with the cancellation of the spring sports season. Our drama production, concerts, and many other extracurricular events planned for the final months of the school year came to a sudden halt. This June brought an end to our time of remote learning due to the COVID-19 school closure. Students completed the last day of school without the usual fanfare. We celebrated the Class of 2020 graduates with individual ceremonies and a campus wide parade instead of our typical ceremony in the gymnasium.
Even in the midst of these unusual, challenging circumstances, our high school students continued to rise to the challenge, showing determination, perseverance and their dedication to achievement. I am so incredibly proud of our students, parents and staff for all that they have done during this unprecedented time. Our mission of “Achievement, Character, Success for Life…ACS” is strong and has been evident in every assignment, every virtual class meeting, every individual conversation between student and staff. As the plans for the future of Albion Central continue to unfold, I know that we are ready and able to tackle any new situation and continue on our path toward success.
I hope that the summer days ahead bring each of you continued health, time for relaxation and opportunities to make memories with your friends and family. September and the start of our new year together will be here before we know it!
As always, it’s a great day to be a Purple Eagle!
