Scholarships

In the spring, seniors will have the opportunity to apply for many local scholarships included on Naviance.  If you are looking for more scholarship opportunities, a list of many scholarships, information and applications are available in the Counseling Office and linked below.

2025-26 Scholarships:

2026 Series Scholarships for Academic Excellence:

Attention Class of 2026:  A scholarship is being offered by the State Department of Education.  In the upcoming weeks, one member of the senior class will be selected to receive a renewable $1500 scholarship.  Other seniors may be eligible to receive a $500 scholarship.  The selection of the winners will be based upon performance on the Regents Exams.  By rule, a weighted average of the scores on the Regents Exams will be as follows:

  • English Language Arts Regents - Grade multiplied by 3

  • Algebra II Regents - Grade multiplied by 3

  • Global Studies Regents - Grade multiplied by 1

  • US History/Government Regents - Grade multiplied by 1

  • Best Two Science Regents - Grade multiplied by 1

Ties will be broken by using the students' class ranks. Winners of this scholarship must attend a college or university in New York State to receive the award.  If you would like additional information, please see your School Counselor. 

Programs:

GCC Promise Plus

Genesee Community College will once again be offering our juniors and seniors a scholarship that will cover the cost of tuition for college classes for the summer semester.  The Genesee Promise Plus scholarship allows current juniors and seniors to enroll in one or two summer courses at GCC.  Students can use these credits toward a degree from GCC or they can transfer the credits to many other colleges.

The summer session at GCC will run from mid-July through mid-August.  Your child’s tuition will be paid for by GCC.  All application materials and information can be found at www.genesee.edu/promise.  

To apply, your student must do the following :

  • Apply and register online

  •  Complete and mail in the one-page GCC Promise Plus Scholarship Application.

  • Complete the Residency Form.

  • Parental approval/signature is required if under 18 years old.

  • Meet with a GCC advisor or a Campus Center associate on an individual basis to ensure eligibility.
