Story courtesy of advisor Caton Conde.

Six J.r. FFA members placed high enough at the district level to qualify for substates in the annual leadership development event. On Saturday, March 18th, they traveled to Byron-Bergen and competed against FFA members from across Western New York.

7th grader Julia Graham competed in Jr. Creed speaking and placed 6th.

6th grader Aubrey Bruning placed 3rd in Jr. Prepared Speaking with her speech on social media and agriculture, and was awarded with a plaque.  Adele Mathes placed 4th with her speech on fibers and wool markets, and Carter Krull placed 5th with his speech on grafting.

Krull placed 3rd and earned a plaque in Jr. Extemporaneous Speaking.  Bruning and Mallory Holt tied for 6th place and Kennedy Murphy placed 9th. Murphy also  placed 9th in Jr. People in Agriculture.

Congratulations to all the participants! We can’t wait to see your results next year.
