Eleven of our Albion High School (AHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA) members participated in the District 9 competitions held at Springville High School earlier this month.
Students representing Albion included: Abigail Ferris, Shania Mathes, Hailey Lonnen, Oliver Beach, Kailtin Basinait, Kaitlin Bennet, Olivia Mathes, Aubrey Bruning, Carter Krull, Adele Mathes, and Bella Basinait.
Of those that competed, the following students placed high enough to advance to the Substate level this March:
- In prepared public speaking, Adele Mathes earned 3rd, Carter Krull earned 4th place, and Aubrey Bruning came in 6th
- In extemporaneous speaking, Carter Krull came in 2nd place and Aubrey Bruning came in 4th
- In Junior People in Agriculture, Bella Basinait earned a 6th place finish
- Oliver Beach, Kailtin Basinait, Kaitlin Bennet and Abby Ferris with a 5 place finish in Agriculture Issues
