oratorical contest

The local American Legion Oratorical Contest was held on Nov. 24 at Albion High School where students prepared and presented 8-10 minute speech on topics related to the U.S. Constitution. The winners were (pictured above, front row from left): Aubrey Gannon (1st place), Cerenity (D) Johnson (2nd place), Neveya Barnes (3rd place), Cordelia Rivers (4th place), and Ava Woolson (5th place). They are pictured with American Legion and Legion Auxiliary judges and organizers.

The top place finishers went on to compete at the county level contest at Kendall High School on Dec. 12 where they represented Albion well. The winners were (pictured below, front row from left) Albion's Neveya Barnes, who took 4th place, Cerenity (D) Johnson who took 3rd place, Kendall's Maya Brundage took 1st, and Emily Tatar took 2nd place. They are pictured with American Legion representatives. Congratulations to all on their hard work and dedication as they strengthened their advocacy and leadership skills, confidence, and respect for civic engagement through public speaking.
