Albion middle students Luci and Sutton have been hard at work on an impressive Revolutionary War research project in partnership with Orleans County. As a result of their research, they've been able to obtain multiple roadside markers, gravestone flag markers and a replace a damaged gravestone. The markers will be installed ahead of a community ceremony in the spring to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States and to honor Revolutionary War soldiers buried locally.

Ms. Messmer's 8th grade science classes have been getting creative with their Rube Goldberg projects. Teams were challenged with designing and building their own machine that accomplishes a task that involves at least 5 steps. In doing so, they exercised their problem solving and communication skills while making great connections with their force and motion knowledge.

'Tis the season! ❄️ Wonderful performances by middle school band and choir students at their holiday concert! 🎶
Students from Mrs. Feder’s middle school art classes recently painted a “chapel thermometer” to gauge community giving toward the Mt. Albion Cemetery chapel repair. Great work!🎨⛪

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students wrapped-up their Annual Food Drive last week. They donated all collected items to the Community Action of Orleans & Genesee in Albion to help those in need ahead of the holiday season. There are so many fantastic displays of leadership and service going on in our buildings!

Students from the Middle School History Club got a tour of the Orleans County courthouse by Associate Court Attorney Kathy Harling, and learned about the many court procedures and operations. They also met with County Judge Sanford Church to discuss his multi-faceted role as judge over county, family, and surrogate court.

The Albion Science Olympiad Team recently got to visit the Niagara Power Vista, Goat Island, The Adams Power Plant Transformer House (which was a crucial part of the first large-scale AC hydroelectric power station in the world.), the Locks at Lockport and the Big Bridge! What an awesome learning experience!

Our JV and varsity cheer teams assisted the in assembling and distributing 200 boxes of food in partnership with the Community Action of Orleans & Genesee in Albion to help those in need locally. We are so extremely proud of the time our students and staff take to give back to our community!

Local resident, historian, and author Tom Tabor donated his book, “The Orleans Battery,” and a framed replica on the soldiers and history of the Civil War's local 17th New York Light Artillery. He presented it to Albion Middle School social studies teacher Mr. Ragonese and his 8th grade students. Future classes will benefit from Tabor’s extensive research for years to come. We thank him for his generosity!

Ahead of Veterans Day, the Middle School Multicultural Club wrote letters and assembled posters to be hung at businesses throughout the Village of Albion to thank the veterans in our community for their service! They will be displayed at the Orleans Veterans Club, Tops, Dubby's Tailgate, and The Village House Restaurant. #PurpleEaglePride💛💜

Thank you to all who came to celebrate the Day of the Dead last week. MS students and staff worked very hard to make it a meaningful and educational evening where families could honor loved ones and experience Mexican culture and traditions together.🕯️💗

We are loving the eagle-eye view at the middle school! Kamie Feder's art classes spruced up the school's courtyard with a string art installation for their first project earlier this school year. Students worked together to weave yarn into the chain link fence before mapping out and installing a giant, 36'x24', string art eagle in the mulched area. #PurpleEaglePride
