Albion Central School District residents voted on Tuesday, May 21 to approve the 2024-25 budget and to elect two members to the Board of Education.

All four budget propositions passed. Linda Weller and Kelly Kirby were elected to fill two board seats.

“Thank you to everyone who voted today,” said Superintendent of Schools Mickey Edwards. “It is with your continued support we are able to promote the success of our students and staff here at Albion. We’re looking forward to another great year for our Purple Eagles.”

The 2024-20235 school budget passed by a margin of 332 - 73, the bus purchase passed 352 – 52, the Hoag Library budget 317-87 and the establishment and proposed initial funding of a new capital improvements reserve fund passed 317-87. The total budget comes in at $42,320,666 with no tax increase for district residents, marking the 16th time in the past 18 years that the tax levy has either decreased or remained the same.

The two board electees will begin their five-year term this July.
