Early Dismissal Drill

Dear Parents and Guardians,

State regulations mandate that all school districts must hold at least one Early Dismissal Drill annually. The purpose is to test the district’s preparedness for an emergency that requires the evacuation, dismissal, or release of students before the end of the regular school day. This is in addition to other required emergency fire and lockdown drills held throughout the school year.

Please be advised that Albion Central School District has scheduled its Early Dismissal Drill for Tuesday, Sept. 23. All students will be released one hour earlier than regularly scheduled time. Please see below.

High School and Middle School

  • Normal Dismissal Time: 2:22 p.m.

  • Early Dismissal Time for Sept. 23 Drill: 1:22 p.m.

Elementary School

  • Normal Dismissal Time: 3:30 p.m.

  • Early Dismissal Time for Sept. 23 Drill: 2:30 p.m.

Students riding the bus home will arrive one hour earlier than normal drop off time. Be sure to plan accordingly and make the appropriate arrangements. After school extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled. Middle school students staying after school will report to the cafeteria at dismissal. High school students staying after school will report to Cafeteria B.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Any questions can be directed to your school's main office.

Sincerely,

Mickey Edwards, Superintendent
