The Albion High School Internship Program had yet another successful school year where 15 students were able to explore career options and begin developing the critical skills necessary in their chosen field. This experience was made possible through local community business partnerships, allowing students the opportunity to assume real-world work responsibilities, form professional relationships, navigate challenges, gain technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
The program is available for seniors to take as an elective credit in the fall or spring semester. During the program, students attend regional career fairs, college tours, and complete resumes, mock interviews, career research projects and weekly reports. This is in addition to spending four hours a week for nearly twenty weeks at their internship site.
"I’m so proud of this past year's group of students and proud of our district for acknowledging the value in real students working with real people to gain real-world experiences," said Sawyer Green, High School English Teacher and Internship Program Coordinator since 2023. "As I reflect on the program this year, I’m grateful for this community, its businesses, its organizations, its genuinely supportive members for sacrificing their time and giving these students a great experience."
The program helps students attain a beneficial head start in their careers. The following organizations served as valued partners during the 2025-26 school year. The District thanks them for their time, continued support and investment in Albion students and their futures. We look forward to seeing more partnerships flourish in the 2026-27 school year.
