Albion High School students once again had a hand in preparing 9,500 meals for local distribution in the coming months. On Oct. 15, students in Interact Club spent time volunteering at the Foodlink warehouse in Rochester where they sorted food supplies for local programs and food-insecure families throughout Western New York. They worked together to sort through pallets of canned goods, totalling over 11,500 lbs.
Students had the opportunity to visit the Koinonia Kitchen in Albion, which receives food items from Foodlink for their weekly dinner for local families, and see first hand where their hard work is making a difference.
Sponsored by Albion Rotary Club, Interact Club brings together students to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Albion HS and MS has nearly 50 members combined this year.
