students play their created board game with Ms. LaSpina

Sixth grade students in Mrs. Baldwin’s English class showed off their creativity and knowledge by creating board games based on the book The Unteachables by Gordon Korman, which they read together.

The students were given blank boards and game pieces and had to devise their own game with instructions, board spaces and questions pertaining to the book. As Mrs. Baldwin explained, not all students excel at test taking, so having them complete a project allowed for another way to show their understanding of the reading.

Before break, school administrators were invited to play the board games while students took turns playing each other’s games. The games were all fun to play and provided an enjoyable way to head into the mid-winter break.
