donation bins set up outside the ES office

The elementary school is accepting donations this week, April 4-8, for two service learning projects.

A third grade class is collecting pasta, tomato sauce and tomato paste for a spaghetti dinner for those in need. The class would like to offer free meals to the community, with the first dinner slated for April 27 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Albion.

A fifth grade class is collecting items for PAWS in Albion and is asking for donations of Purina Puppy Chow, Little Caesar dog food, kitty litter, dryer sheets and Kong toys. The group also plans to make homemade dog and cat toys after spring break.

Items may be dropped off in the donation bins located by the elementary school main office.

These service learning projects are sponsored by the community schools program run by Mrs. Toni Plummer. More information on future projects will be announced in the coming weeks.
